A vision in light-catching aluminum and white plaster, +31 Architects created the Watervilla Omval in Amsterdam specifically to show off the view of the water outside as much as possible. This houseboat does a fascinating job of showing how contemporary a design can go without fully losing the roots of a traditional houseboat appearance.
The open floor plan includes a split level master room, south side terrace, and living room and galley with an essentially unimpeded view of the river. Currently floating in the Amstel River in Amsterdam, the Watervilla Omval has great potential for widening the imaginations of anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of houseboats.
