Seven Points Marina

September 2021 Rent Jessica Carpenter

Crystal clear water surrounded by mountains covered in green trees as far as the eye can see, the warm sun glistening on the lake, people lounging on the deck of a boat enjoying time with their loved ones—this could be you and your family this summer on Raystown Lake-- depending on how well the pandemic turns out by the summer.

As the largest full-service marina in Pennsylvania, Seven Points Marina has everything you could need for a summer full of fun. You have the chance to truly enjoy all that Seven Points and Raystown Lake have to offer until mid-October this year. Rent a houseboat for a unique experience or take advantage of their daily boat rentals.

Rental Regulars

Tina Frock and her family have been visiting Seven Points Marina for the past 15 years and plan on returning again this year. Her family’s favorite part of visiting the marina is the family-friendly environment.

“Seven Points is like family! The people really make this place what it is. They truly love what they do and do everything they can to make sure you have a great time on the lake, even when circumstances are beyond their control,” explains Frock. “They are constantly changing things to keep you and your family safe as you enjoy their lake.”

Throughout their summer trips, Frock and her family have gotten to know the owners and crew. “Many of the people who work there we knew as teenagers just starting out,” says Frock. “We have seen them grow up, marry and now have their own families.”

Rent A Boat

If you’ve been looking for a place to take your family this summer, Seven Points Marina in Hesston, Pa., is a top choice to consider for your home away from home. The marina is unique because you can rent from a wide selection of one of their 19 cozy houseboats. Spending some quality time with your family was never more fun; being able to swim, fish, and even grill up some burgers on the lake will entertain you and your family all week long.

Each houseboat is equipped with patio furniture, a gas grill, heating and A/C units, and kitchen utensils and cookware, assuring you will feel right at home. They also have a full bath and shower, and most boats come with a slide and a hot tub.

“They are constantly upgrading and replacing every season,” added Frock. “They want you to have a great experience and do what they can to make that happen.”

Houseboat drivers with little-to-no experience are welcome as well, and the marina can provide you with a temporary boater certificate that’ll be good for the entirety of your stay at Seven Points. The crew even drives them in and out of the dock for you, and they will be there to guide you step-by-step if you have any hesitations.

We Are Family

Seven Points Marina takes pride in their family-oriented values, so be sure to bring the kids along. Safety equipment—life vests, fire extinguishers, etc.—are provided. Just be sure to keep an eye on kids around the stairs and water and assure they have their life jackets on when necessary.

If your stay is a bit shorter, the marina also has dayboat pontoon rentals. All pontoons come with a tube and safety equipment, and some even come with water skis. While renting a pontoon, you can expect a day of fishing, relaxing, swimming, and tubing on the water of Raystown Lake.

And don’t leave your family pup at home! Be sure to ask the crew for pet-friendly boat options. Then don’t forget to check out the marina website for video tours of each of the 19 houseboats for rent and photos of the pontoons available.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat)

If you bring your own boat, Seven Points Marina has many options for docking and enjoying their amenities too. You can reserve a dock space throughout your vacation, which includes vehicle and trailer parking and use of Seven Points’ private launch ramp. That means when public ramps are especially busy on holidays and weekends, you’ll appreciate being able to launch with ease.

When checking in, you must present a current license and proof of boat insurance and the maximum size for docking is 24 feet. Transient docks charge by day or by week.

Tours

Only in the area for a few days? The marina offers a two-hour narrated tour on their Princess Lake Cruiser. Relax as you are immersed in beautiful scenery—the boat travels around the shocking blue waters of Pennsylvania’s largest lake surrounded by mountains covered in blooming foliage and stops at the breast of the dam. Many times, you will get the chance to see some resident wildlife, including bald eagles and sometimes even bears! The tour boat is available for private charters for reunions, weddings, and parties, as well.

Surrounding Area

The Raystown Lake region is full of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and motorcycling. The Allegrippis Trails have more than 30 miles of stacked-loop trails used all summer long. The area is also home to Pennsylvania’s largest concentration of caves and caverns. The Indian Caverns, Lincoln Caverns, and Penn’s Caves offer guided tours for spelunking newcomers.

Your Home Away From Home

“Seven points is perfectly located for you to enjoy as much of the lake as you can,” shares Frock. “Besides this being a great vacation where you can get your family to unplug for a week and be engaged with each other, it is a great place filled with people who want you to enjoy their lake.”

It’s no wonder Seven Points Marina was awarded Marina of the Year in 2010 by Marina Dock Age. Consider making lasting memories with your family this summer and join the Seven Points family at Raystown Lake.
