With the weather warming up in northern California following this past Memorial Day weekend, other plans are heating up, too. Shasta Marina Resort at Packers Bay has just installed several more dock fingers, expanding the service area for their sizeable houseboat rental fleet.
These new galvanized steel docks were supplied by Meeco Sullivan and come with durable exposed aggregate concrete decking to complement all the total covered and open slip docks with unique box-truss galvanized steel frames that Meeco Sullivan has already provided. This company also manufactured new anchor winch platform docks earlier in the year for a more flexible and stable layout as water levels fluctuate on Shasta Lake.
After the drought brought the waterline to a terrible low years ago, Shasta Marina moved to Packers Bay for deeper water. Today, this marina stretches out over 2,000 feet along 8-foot to 12-foot-wide walkways, with 55 covered slips, 83 houseboat berths, and dock space for more than 50 rental houseboats and other visiting vessels by their on-the-water office and fuel dock.
Says John Harkrader, marina owner, “Packers Bay is a much deeper location than O’Brien…The Meeco Sullivan docks and anchor platforms handle the weather conditions very well, and have been an integral part of our relocation, allowing a lot of flexibility in our marina layout depending on seasonal water levels.”
“Meeco Sullivan galvanized steel dock systems are the perfect solution for durable and flexible river and lake marina facilities,” adds J. Mills, Western Region Sales Manager for Meeco Sullivan. “The docks are designed to accommodate concrete, composite, wood, and aluminum decking, and the exposed aggregate concrete decking at Shasta Marina added an extra element of ambient functionality to their marina.”
