Saturday, May 6, 2017 is coming up fast. Do you know what the big day is? If you’re a fan of the Kentucky Derby, of course you do!

Dorfman Pacific is gearing up for the big race too with a collection of specialty Scala Collezione and Biltmore hats.

“Over the Kentucky Derby weekend, the track has to arrange security to handle the crowd at the Churchill Downs Store,” says Debra Highsmith, Dorfman Pacific’s VP of Sales. “Over that one weekend, The Churchill Downs Store and Kentucky Derby Museum Gift Shop sells as many hats as it does for the entire rest of the year. It is an invigorating day for our brands and of course for everyone at the race.”

To keep up with the demand of the derby crowd, Scala once more got with Kentucky Derby Museum buyer, Katie Stephenson, to create a chic 2017 grouping of women’s sinamay hats and fascinators under the notable Scala Collezione label. You can find all sorts of high fashion colors and shapes here in a general price range from $75 to $225, with basic fascinators starting at $30.

For the men in the crowd, the traditional Panama hats are joined by Scala’s edgier fedoras and ivy silhouettes that range from $75 to $175. For more extravagant options, check out Biltmore’s luxury hats for eye-catching hand craftsmanship based in Texas.

 “We are convinced that the grouping for 2017 will be met with an enthusiastic reception from customers who really know what it means to look stylish,” adds Highsmith.

Keep an eye out for these stores conveniently located onsite at Churchill Downs. As Scott Starnes, Executive VP of Dorfman Pacific and President of the company's Milano Hat Company, humorously sums it up, "Keep in mind, without the hats, the Derby is just another horse race!"
