Protect Your Rope with Chafe Guards

December 2016 Product Web Exclusive

Not only is dock rope expensive, but it's the only thing that holds a valuable boat in place while moored or anchored. Even on a calm day, vessels will gently sway back and forth, causing constant tension and friction that creates rope damage before you know it. Secure Chafe Guards from Davis Instruments protect braided and three-strand rope from wear, and are now available in black or white.

Easily to remove and install, Secure Chafe Guards feature Velcro hook fasteners along the entire interior to grip the line and allow them to be adjusted to adapt to changing conditions. They're covered in rugged, UV-stabilized nylon webbing for superior abrasion resistance, and they're compatible with line from 3/8" to 1" in diameter.

Secure Chafe Guards also help protect gelcoat and varnished finishes from the sawing motion of rope wear. At 16 inches long, they're perfect for use on cleats, chocks, hawseholes, anchor rollers, crossing lines, or anywhere abrasion is possible.

Davis Instruments Secure Chafe Guards (both black and white) have a suggested retail price of $29.99 a pair.
