Planning to visit Voyageurs National Park for one or more nights next summer? Make your reservation as soon as possible.
Nestled in the northern Great Lakes in Minnesota, right near the Canadian border, Voyageurs National Park is a summer boater's paradise comprised of four large lakes that's also great for camping. Many boaters from around the globe find peace here during the season, as they rent houseboats that have everything they need for a genuine, relaxing vacation on the water. Beginning in the 2017 season, however, those who want to stay overnight on a houseboat will now be required to make a reservation, according to park officials. Officials are also encouraging potential visitors to make those reservations as soon as they have their summer plans figured out. A detailed summary of the new houseboat rental program can be found at www.nps.gov/voya/planyourvisit/houseboating.htm.
Reservations are open as of November 15, and visitors can make their reservations either online at www.recreation.gov or by calling the National Call Center at 877-444-6777.
