Charity In The Caribbean

January 2016 Web Exclusive

Broken shoulder bone? Pirates? That doesn’t phase this brave houseboater, according to GetWestLondon.com. James Muggoch is preparing to kick off a solo trip to the Caribbean aboard his 27-foot yacht, and after traveling the 3,600 miles to his final destination, he plans on donating the vessel to the First Grand Anse Sea Scouts in Grenada. Muggoch has hopes that his gift can help impoverished youths learn basic seafaring skills and open a door for them to find opportunities in the maritime industry. A tracking device will allow supporters to check on the 66-year-old’s progress online here. If you’re interested in sponsoring Muggoch, it’s not too late—he’s set to fly to Lanzorote on the 29th and will start his big journey a few days following.
