Floating Seahorse Villas: A New Level Of Luxury

May 2015 News Austa Cook Web Exclusive

In the world of houseboating, typically keeping your vessel mostly above the water is the ideal and anything less is what we’d call “sinking”but according to AhlanLive.com, that’s not what the Kleindienst Group thinks. Creators of the Heart of Europe as part of the World Islands project, this Dubai Media City-based group is officially launching their plans for partially-submerged houseboats that descend beneath the waves' surface for an unforgettable underwater view.

Called the Floating Seahorse Villas, these houseboats offer three beautiful decks—the open living space, dining area, and kitchen are at sea level while the bathroom and master bedroom are completely underwater. Up top is a minibar and glass-bottom Jacuzzi.

Even more impressive, these 42 water homes have the power to move like most houseboats, rather than remain stationary in the water. Does it get any cooler?

But wait, it does—this project is also designed to help protect seahorses and other marine life by offering a safe environment for them to thrive.

AhlanLive.com reports that Kleindienst CEO Josef Kleindienst says, “The seahorse is an endangered species and we will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.”

Luxurious and environmentally conscious, it does get cooler!

Originally unveiled at the Dubai International Boat Show in March, the Floating Seahorse villas were just recently approved and are now quickly moving into development.

“Many months of research, design and planning have gone into The Floating Seahorse and we are excited to be able to officially launch and build it in Dubai,” Kleindienst says.

He also adds, “We’re confident it will set a new benchmark in the luxury lifestyle market worldwide for outstanding innovation, contemporary design and underwater living at its best.”

We should think so! Since the announcement, the Kleindienst Group has already drawn potential buyers in countries from Sweden to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Caribbean, and Portugal. As the images they provide show, these houseboats are going to be something out of a fantastic dream. Surely this will exponentially raise the bar in luxury water living.
