Thoroughbred Houseboats has been in business since 1996. The company started when Rob Parrish got a group of local craftsmen together to manufacturer Kentucky’s best-built custom houseboats. The first of these houseboats rolled off the assembly line in 1997 and the builder has been producing top-quality custom houseboats ever since.
Most of its new boats have the glass-sided look, which is quickly becoming a very popular look around the country. Each boat has an insulated glass front wall, which is really important to all customers for the view and opening up the boat. The company has been committed to developing more fiberglass parts this past year. The builder has developed exterior yacht-style LED lighting, plus specializes in smooth front and back exterior soffit surfaces—a big improvement for the urethane paints for your roof that are made to last for a long time.
Another service the company offers is boat restorations. Through Thoroughbred Renovations, you can have work done on your current boat, including upgrades, renovations or small repairs. The company can also transport your houseboats to a different lake.
As a recap for 2014, Throughbred Houseboats, part of Trifecta Ventures, will be built side-by-side Sumerset and Stardust Cruisers. Each brand will keep its trademark design features, but will be able to incorporate the best of what each company has to offer.
