California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently vetoed a bill that would have prohibited the sale and use of widely employed holding tank deodorants used in waste facilities and toilets on boats and recreational vehicles, according to Thetford Marine.
The bill had passed in both houses of the legislature by large margins.
"Thetford is very grateful for all the distributors, RV dealers, RVIA and other concerned industry organizations that rallied together and helped to provide education and understanding regarding this bill. Without them, this veto, which preserves consumer choice in RV deodorants, may not have been achieved," said Kevin Phillips, Thetford vice president and sales and marketing, in a statement.
