Forty people attended the American Boat Builders & Repairers Association's recent summer symposium, which was touted as a success by participants and sponsors.
"The overall mood at the event was one of camaraderie," ABBRA president Doug Domenie said in a statement. "I continued to hear attendees comment on the networking opportunities and overall educational experience."
Sessions at the two-day event, which took place last week, included an in-depth discussion on the economy, commentary on preparing for modern-day risks such as a flu pandemic and the approaching hurricane season.
The symposium concluded with private tours of three New England boatyards: Newport Shipyard, Hinckley Yacht Services and Conanicut Marine Services.
